Dear APEC Community,

I am very pleased to announce the planned merger of APEC Schools with National Teachers College (NTC), our sister school at IPO.

This union of our two institutions will result in an organization with over 24,000 students and 700 employees across 18 campuses in the NCR, Rizal, Cavite and Batangas. Given the overlapping strengths of each company, our two institutions complement each other extremely well – culturally, organizationally, and geographically.

The National Teachers College was founded in 1928 and was the Philippines’ first Higher Education Institution to offer collegiate programs dedicated to teacher education. It is a nationally recognized leader in the field of teacher education and its performance in the Licensure Examination for Teachers has consistently been above the national passing rate.

APEC will continue to operate as we are with the added benefit of a clear pathway to college for our grade 10 and Senior High Students. APEC will officially become part of a ‘Big School’ with a significant Main Campus at NTC which will serve as a new home/headquarters for all our students.

APEC will continue to build on its credentials as the leader in progressive teaching – a place where teachers and education professionals can learn innovations in techniques and learning models to better serve their companies and schools, and will become the Teaching Innovation Laboratory of NTC.

Clearly this is a big change with exciting times ahead. I invite you to learn more about the merger, by reading our joint press release below. For questions or clarifications, please feel free to engage with your department heads.

Sincerely,

Alfredo I. Ayala
